Today Sean's class had a Mother's Day Tea. All the moms were invited, the kids each read a poem they had written, sang songs, gave out flowers and served us breakfast. It was very cute but the best part of it was being in Sean's classroom and seeing the difference in his behavior there. It was amazing how things have changed since the last function I was at before he was taking the Abilify. He was not picking things off the rug, he was not bothering and touching other kids, he was not interrupting the teacher. He was also not rifiling through his desk, playing with pencils, or throwing a fit because he was not 1st in line to get a donut. He WAS sitting quietly on the rug with his hands to himself, following the teachers directions and keeping quiet when he was supposed to. He waited in line until it was his turn without a complaint and then sat and ate. I now get what his teacher means when she says he is like a totally different child. It was SO nice not to be that parent who is cringing in embarrassment because of their kids behavior. Afterward I ran into a mom I know from last year who volunteers as a lunch aide. She knew all the difficulties I had last year and wanted to ask me what we did because Sean was suddenly so well behaved in the lunchroom. She said things had really changed and he was so calm now and also very polite. A nice Mother's Day gift.

I'm so happy for you and Sean. I'm sure he will start feeling quite different about himself not always being in trouble, so to speak.

That's great! He sounds so much like Noah at school.
