I't's been a crazy year for me. I slipped on the ice this past winter and had surgery. I broke both tibia and fibia bones. It was bizzare because I stepped down and it just snapped sideways! It was awful. My son Kyle was with me and handelled the whole thing great. He called 911 and his Dad to come. The gas station wouln't let him use the phone!!!! He held my hand while I was laying half in the doorway and half in the paking lot! I now beep at the airport!!! I was so proud of him. Anyway that laid me up for about 6 months! BAD Kyle is now 12 and going into Juinor high. (grade 7) He is doing really well. He had the best year of school ever. The support for him was great. He now uses a lap top computer and gets all his tests read to him. His provincial achievment tests were amazing. He was the only one in grade 6 to get !00% on the math. He got high 80's for all other subjects. I am so happy. We have been fighting with the school to get this for him for a few years now. Before he had the scribe he was just barely passing. Also they now let him use the computer because his writing is also really bad. That is the bad and good of my past year! Oh.. Ya.. my youngest son Tyson was in grade 1 this past year and his teacher thinks he needs to be tested for ADHD also. He is just busy, and can't sit still. Thankfully he doesn't have the problems (so far) that Kyle has had to deal with.

Wow! That sounds like one painful leg! I'm sorry you had to go through that. I'm glad you are back now. Its a good thing you had Kyle with you when it happened. Did he finally get them to understand in the gas station that he needed to call an ambulance or did he have to go somewhere else?
That is so wonderful about Kyle in school!!!! I'm thrilled for him. Now that he is getting the support he needs his real intelligence can shine through and it sounds like he is a very smart guy.

Someone in the store let him use their cell phone to call his Dad and the store called for him to 911 but they said I broke my arm not my leg. It was crazy because when the ambulance came they said that they had stuff for a broken arm. I couln't move at all and I'm pretty sure with a broken arm I could have got up. Kyle was so sweet!

Ouch! The only bones I've ever broken were both of my big toes and a fracture in my elbow. It creeps me out to think of an actual snapped bone. Poor you! Have they healed up well or do they still give you trouble? I hope not.
Thanks for the update on the kids.

It still causes me pain and swells by the end of the day. The doctor says it will be an issue for the rest of my life. Thanks for the replies.
