Wish us luck! Shannon took a test in reading & in math to see where she falls because of her LD's. They placed her in 6th grade math, but in her reading scores were at 10th grade level!WOOHOO! Most of her books are here & shes got her "office" set up & all her supplies ready to go. I'll post here tomorrow after her first day is over.

they didn't tell me to start yet, and Shaun's computer hasn't come yet. I know he can work on another one, but it is his pride keeping him from starting.
Can you tell me where to find the cyber basics course? I can't find it on either of the boys course lists, and I thought I was supposed to have it.
I need to pin the boys down to do the scantrons too, but they keep thinking Sept 2nd is the start day for the school district, so they don't want to start earlier. I want them to work this week and next so we can go to Cape Cod for an extended Labor Day weekend.
Can't wait to hear that Shannon loves her new school!

We couldn't find the cyber basics class either Trid. Shannon went to her classes today & all that was there was a "meet the teachers" announcement so she emailed her IS who called her & then ended up giving her the wrong info! I was at Bill's therapy & had to step out to call her myself. She told me that lots of kids haven't received their books and/or their computers yet & that they are pretty lenient the first couple weeks because of that. Shannon is one who is still missing a book. Anyway, we are eating dinner right now & then Shannon & I are going to see if we can find her course work & basics class. I'll post again if we do!

Is she doing VC classes or self-paced? The boys are both doing all self paced, so I was under the impression that they could start today, but they don't HAVE to start until Sept. 2, when the VC classes start. Patrick wants to complete 2 years of school this year, but I doubt he will pull it off. He is only turning 16 in a few weeks, and I don't want him to finish high school before he is 17.
Make sure that Shannon has my phone number too, if she justs wants to scream about school but not yell at the teachers! I am good at hearing the gripes. Plus, I hope to be familiar with the BB soon enough, and should be able to help her locate things without having to wait for an IS to call her back.

Thanks! I got your PM & wrote down your numbers. Shannon isn't doing any virtual classes. She's self paced too. We haven't gotten a chance yet to sit down & look together. Her friend called & she's on the phone. I told her to come down when she finishes up.

We have all self pace:
English 9 Intro to College Writing Algebra 1 Algebra 2 Biology Chemistry US History American Govt. Contemporary Music Trends Driver's Ed
So, between the two boys, I have a lot of books, and might be able to help her through any rough spots if you are tied up with therapies.
