Those that have children on the spectrum that speak. Do your child's tone of voice go from lower to loudest? It seems my ds's voice is very low,you can barely hear him,in the daytime and at night seems to be loud.

Now you have me wondering. I've always thought of my nephew with aspergers as speaking overly loud and not stop always. Maybe I never noticed because he hasn't lived with me. I'll have to ask my sister.

I don't have a child on the spectrum but have worked with lots of kids who are. For the most part it seemed to me that they spoke pretty loudly.

I was daycare provider for a set of autistic twins for over 3 years, they spent at least 4 and up to 8 or 9 hours a day with me. They were mostly loud talkers, though from time to time they seemed to discover that they could whisper and would whisper something and giggle with delight.
They were 3 when I started watching them and almost 7 when I stopped because they moved out of my area.

DS, who has PDD-NOS, is mostly quiet, except when he gets excited - but he has ADHD too so this probably affects things.
