It has been crazy around here for the past couple weeks! School registrations, school supplies, school clothes, school calls, school is a word that seems to get my hairs standing up on my neck!
I got the oldest regs for her freshman year in her new high school and it has been a interesting process, her schedule has changed 4 times and they don't even start until the 2nd! First it was she got put in the wrong math, it was strait LRC SPED, she is supposed to be in an inclusion class. So we got that switched to algebra with a teacher that transfered from her middle school and worked with Ran very well, then found out that she is supposed to be in pre-algebra and a different teacher. So they were supposed to get it switched and call me, they forgot, so we showed up at the school yesterday. They were like OH, yeah, we forgot, so change again and now Ran is in the counselors tearing up and the caseworker was there, anyway, we went and met her new math teacher and she calmed down and she got to talk to her old math teacher who reassured her that she would be a contact Ran could come in and see anytime! So we got the schedule changed again, and Ran's anxiety lessened a bit.
I am hoping this all goes OK with her, she has the math LD with the ADD issues and anxiety. She is happy about some of her electives though that she could not get on her first schedule like food 1 and wellness, so I am hoping the first week will calm her down and she will see it is not too terrible making this transition. It has my anxiety up a bit too I think.
