We are having a discussion about fish oil in a group I belong to & someone brought this up. I thought I'd share it.
To test the pollutant content of your fish oil is easy. Get a styrofoam cup with smooth edges. Fill it half full of boiling water, then puncture the capsule a few times and drop it in the water. "Like Eats Like"' so the oil should eat away the styrofoam around the top of the water. Pure fish oil will eat the top completely loose so that you can lift it off the base. If it doesn't then it means that there are polluntants in your fish oil that you are taking everyday.

You couldn't have posted this at a better time. My brother had gotten some Omegas for my Mom and where he got them are sooo expensive. I'm talking $50.00 for a 30 day- one-a-day supply and Mom wants to take two like the directions say. I am about to research what all this particular Omega brand has in it and if it is actually any better than something else I could pick up for cheaper. If I go with the cheaper brand, of just fish oil, I want to use that test.
Thanks so much Misty! Although it sounds kind of creepy that it eats styrofoam.
