The $4 meds don't include any of the ADHD meds really....I do get Chase's guanfacine that way.
There is one ADHD med that lasts about 6 hours and is generic. Dexedrine. It is what Chase is on right now and it seems to be working for him quite well so far this year. We get it for $15 a month since it is a generic.
Some younger kids do qretty well on just guanfacine alone don't they? You might want to suggest trying just a small dose of that if the main issue is hyperactivity.

Another route is to check with your insurance to see if they have a mail order. You can order three months worth of meds and only pay 2. I have to do that with my son's diabetic supplies. Saves me a ton of money that way!
I love my state, the kids can get medicare at a low premium/co pays even if I make a lot of money. So I have Hubby and I on work insurance, and kids on state. My son's meds and dr apts are so expensive, I couldn't do it without the support from state.
Keep looking around. There's also canadian pharmacies online you can order your meds at a lower cost sometimes. You might want to look into that.
Sorry to hear about your son. At least you're a pro now, so you can work with him behaviorly before going med route. You never know, he may respond well to it.
