So DS started out taking 2 - 150mg pills a day and then was increased to 3 pills a day. Then I was SUPPOSED to run his blood in the AM before a pill (10-12 hrs). Therapuetic levels start at .6
Ok, so I messed up. I ran his test in the evening about 4 hours after his last pill and totally forgot about the 10-12 hour thing. So I went to the doc apologetic and he said it was ok because it came out .5 after 4 hours, so the 10 hr test would have been less, like .25 and that's way too low to be therapuetic.
So, the good news is, the meds aren't there yet. Once they are we SHOULD see some changes for the better. We can't rush it because lithium can become toxic very quickly and the side effects are harsh if you up the dose too fast. So now he's getting a 300 mg pill in the AM and PM and run tests at the end of next week. And no allergy so far which is awesome too.

I'm hoping that the increase in meds is helpful Anon. Let us know how he's doing.

It's good to know that the dr thinks he just hasn't reached the optimum level. You can feel encouraged that there is hope for the near future. I hope the amount he is taking now is perfect!
