A Newbie to the Site

A little about my family and myself;

Konner (10) medical diagnosis of NF1 or Neurofibromatosis (www.ctf.org) He has learning disabilities from that as well as Non Verbal Learning Disorder and Dyslexia.

Kayden (8) currently being tested for disabilities. Medical diagnosis of Epilepsy.

Me - Wendy aka Momma married to Russ who also NF1, works outside of the home for a wonderful corporation and then is a major ADVOCATE for my children. I am the person that speaks my mind and makes sure everyone knows our story because saying it to right one person could change our life forever

I am always looking for hints for learning for Konner and Kayden and just to visit with other parents.

I haven't heard of Neurofibromatosis before...I'll have to have a look around the link you included. I was just told that my daughter may not be ADHD at all, but rather NVLD so I'll sure be interested in hearing any tips & advice you have. Sounds like you are a well organized, busy mom! I'm looking forward to getting to know you better!

So good to meet you Daburns. I've never heard of Neurofibromatosis either. I even had to refer back to your post to make sure I spelled it correctly. I too will check out that link.
Anyway, it is great to have you join our group. I know I'm always looking forward to meeting new people.
Funny,I thought the very same as Misty when I read your post... that you are very orgainized. I can't tell you how I came to that conclusion but I did.

I just looked NF1 up. I don't know what to say other than we will be here to help and support you as much as anyone online can. You can post about anything here whether its something we know anything about or not. We'll do all we can to help you. That's what family is for and we have become an online family to each other.


You sound so matter of fact about everything you are dealing with. You must be one very strong woman and I agree, very organized to deal with it all.
