So as I had posted up in the BP section, DS had asked if he could paint something for his room to help calm himself. So as any good momma would do, I ran out and bought him some paints! The process was actually quite calming for him. And here's his final product. I think it came out pretty good! Click Image to Enlarge

I was wondering....he has had them hung in his room for a while....are they helping to calm him as he thought they would?

Those are good. I love the color selections he made and the first one is just really interesting and not in the way that people say "interesting" when they don't like something but I mean they REALLY ARE interesting. He has a good eye for painting.

I have to admit, I am a bad mommy at times and I haven't gotten them up on his wall. We want to move his room around a little and I don't want to put them in the wrong spot. They are propped up on his desk though. And he's has had nights where I've pulled them down and we discussed the pictures which distracted his mind from the breakdowns. I think it was a positive experience for him and I'm hoping to break out the paints this weekend to give him a chance to make more. My sister has already requested a picture for her living room. She's a little artsy and she liked the two he made. He beams with pride when people talk to him about it. It is definately a feel good project.
Thanks for checking in,
Anon
