Hi, I just went to the health food store and told them that I wanted to try something natural for ADHD. They gave me Efalex and MacaSure. I just found out that I also have ADHD and wanted to try something. Any adivse on these 2 things?

I think trying the Efalex is a great idea as it contains Omega 3 and 6. Studies have proven this can be really beneficial to people with ADHD.
I have never heard of MacaSure so just now am reading up on it and haven't really found any solid research regarding any benefits for folks with ADHD. I'm just now reading about the Maca root and still haven't found anything really convincing. I don't think it will hurt to try it. Just note every change both positive and negative even if you aren't sure the changes are connected. I'll keep looking for more info.
Keep us updated if you decide to go ahead and try them. I'm not sure I'd start both at the same time because then you may have a hard time determining which one is helping/hurting.

Thanks! I started on both of them already. It's been 3 days. I don't know if I can feel anything yet but I sure am cleaning alot. The lady said maca was goodfor my mind It races all the time. I am constantly thinking of things I need to do and it really has been frustrating me. I can't stop thinking and then sit there and don't do anything about it. This makes me mad and I snap at everyone! I can't stop the negative thinking and feeling so overwellemed from everything I have on my plate. From having to deal with my son who is now a teen who's meds are getting wacky to just being told that I probably have had ADHD my whole life and not known. It's been alot! So I just kind of went to the health food store spur of the moment!

I think it may take a while before you notice a difference. I'm all for going the natural way first before any meds if at all possible. I hope these help you.

Thanks so much! How long before they start working? I've heard it takes a while.

I don 't know about those two, but natural always takes longer to kick in than pharmaceutical remedies do. It took my daughter a little over a month to start seeing a difference with Omegas. It was well worth it for her though. I'll love to hear how these are working for you as time goes on!

I'll let you know! I'm soppose to do the oil for 12 weeks at a higher dose. 12 weeks, wow seems like a long time! If it works I want to get my son on natural also. Not sutre how to do that, he can't quit stims to switch, it would be awful!

You should ask his Dr. if he can take it along with the stims until it's in his system & then try weaning him off the stims. I know you can take fish oil along with the stims, but like I said, I don't know anything about the 2 you mentioned so asking the Dr. is safest.
