Since day one she has been getting dressed independently with 1 reminder and last night first night of homework wow the change. She complained for about 20 minutes saying it was too much (not really) and asked if she can take it in her room and do it watching TV well she did it! I did not have to sit next to her and keep her on task and argue with her She Did It!!!! When I got excited she replied " I am a big girl and a role model for the younger grades now I am in 5th grade" I stood there shocked will this last remains to be seen. I told her I am proud of her and marked it on the calender and let her know if I keep seeing this attitude she will be rewarded and that she definitely perked up to. She does like books like me so when I get a book I will let her pick one out too. I used to have to dress her or help her dress wow.
Tonight is open house and I get to meet the teacher. I spoke to her on the phone already and she seems really nice and Annette likes her.

Well the honeymoon is over back to the fussing and arguing. I am also noticing the homework is increasing and my girl is freaking out. She has reduced homework on her IEP however how does this get judged when she has different teachers now for a few subjects. Today is an example they want her to do a math sheet 10 problems, write her spelling words 5x, read for 30 minutes, and write a journal whole page due Thursday. She is almost 10 and with disability.
