hi, you sound like a great kid, welcome. I have 2 duaghters and one of them will be entering the 8th grade also this fall. She has a math LD that she is struggling to accept and during the last part of 7th grade went into special education math along with her regular math class. She had a really hard time with the social side of being "different" from her classmates and has still not told any of her friends that she is in that class.
I am trying to help her be OK with being who she is and have shared my struggles as a kid with her. I have ADHD and a few LD's.
Every kid is different is what I tell her, it makes the world an interesting place. You are accepted by more people than you probably realize and it is great that you do not let others hold you back - I am sure you will keep figuring out your strengths and not let anything else get in your way.
I would think your attitude and abilities would make you a role model for others your age that are struggling with issues!

Welcome Jess! You sound like a very mature and intelligent girl. You may be able to help me out as I have a 6 year old son with ADHD OCD and BP and we are just beginning all this. He is also a child who is shunned at school and has basically no friends. Are you taking any medications?
