We'd like to hear what your kids think is a positive part of ADHD. We'd love it if you could ask your child/ren to name 1 or 2 things that they like about themselves. Then come here & post their answers in a reply. No need to post the child's name, but if you could please post their gender & age. It will be interesting to see if older children's answers are different than younger ones. And sometimes, when we are getting down about all the things we are going through with/for our kids, it will be nice to be able to come here & be reminded of the good things!

I will get the ball rolling!
My daughter is 15 & unmedicated. She says:
"I like that when I'm interested in something, I can really really focus on it" (Yeah, that is funny that she likes this trait because her dad & I hate it. When she wants something we don't want her to have or do, it is so frustrating that she won't listen to reason & just keeps begging for it).
She also says:
"I like that I don't get tired at night because I can stay up late writing or reading & don't need to sleep as much as my friends do."
(Once again its funny.....its another thing we argue about here because we think she needs more sleep. She truly cannot sleep though. I've even been thinking about getting her into a sleep study to see what's going on. I think she has severe insomnia).

my adhd daughter (age 11) loves the fact that she can see things that others always overlook (a bug on the sidewalk, a feather in a field) and the fact that she is extremely creative and has a wild imagination. She loves to write stories and draw.

Solavage, My daughter writes & draws too. Her stories are amazing! Her goal is to write a book & one day have it published. I truly think she can make a living out of writing. I love the creative side!

Through the research studies my girl was in she thinks that she was lucky because of ADHD to do the fun things and the chance to have met a few friends there that have the same thing.
