It varies as to what they eat but they are limited to a snack after school and one before bed. I rarely have candy in the house and no one is crazy about fruit around here. I guess they mostly have chip-type things and cookies.

We have everything and I don't limit it for my son as he isn't a great snack person. I do prefer that he have fruits and veggies and fruit snacks though.

Shannon will choose fruits & veggies over cookies & chips most times anyway, so I keep apples, carrots, grapes, green peppers, plums, pears, oranges & celery handy. She loves apples with caramel dip too & celery with cream cheese...sometimes I buy the toppings, sometimes I don't.

I chose fruit snacks as my vote. Tiff will eat cookies, chips, candy, whatever is available. She will eat fruits and vagies when I put my foot down. Since she is gaining a few too many pounds right now, she can only have the fruits and vegies.

I'm pretty open when it comes to snacking. I don't limit Josh's snacking at all, but that is because he has tons of food allergies and I really don't have to. He can't have most candy, no ice cream, and won't give him fruit snacks because of the red dye #40...sooooo he pretty much just snacks on fruit, veggies, and carbs. I do however have to watch his carbs, he can eat a loaf of french bread in 10 min flat! But, I have to say, because he really doesn't get the really fun foods, I let him slide a little.
Oh...by the way, I voted for ice cream because I so want him to outgrown his milk allergy so we can share an ice cream together. Heck, I've been waiting for that for 11 years now! Hee Hee. You did ask what we prefered and I prefer that he could eat it!

I went for "preferring" fruits as a snack ... but that doesn't mean it is HIS preference!!
