Just wondering. I haven't heard from you lately. Shannon is doing well. You know I was a bit worried about a group of boys that are making fun of her, but SHE is not worried. She is happy with the few girls she's getting close too & she's now making friends with the "geeky boys" as she calls them,. Thats fine with me. She's happy & thats what counts. She is finally starting to get help with math & science and loves all the other classes & her teachers.
Anyway, tell me how Josh is adjusting. I hope he's having a great experience!

Awww...thanks for keeping Josh in your thoughts. Well, things are going well...so far...lol. It's only been a little over a week, but he is really adjusting well. He walked in the first day not knowing a soul, but by the time I picked him up from orientation he introduced me to about six kids. Bless their souls. A group of boys that have been going to this charter for a few years took him under their wing and showed him around. Turns out he has at least one or two of them in each of his classes. That really put him at ease on this first couple of days, and they seem like really nice kids. He really likes all of his teachers and they seem to be very accessable to the students and parents. Since its a "tech" charter, he's loving all the computer aspects of his schooling. Everything is online on his labtop, so its great for him because he is known to forget a book or an assignment. He said his favorite part is going from class to class. Since I homeschooled him for middle school he never experienced that before. He gets board so easy and can lose focus, so moving around is good for him. I'm so glad we picked the school we did. It's the perfect size for him (only 140 kids in the freshman class). I know its going to get more intense next week with homework over-load, but he seems to have a good understanding of what is expected for him. So, after the first week, I have a pretty happy kid. He said the other day that he's glad he went back. That made me smile inside. I'm so glad Shannon is doing so well. She is really growing up to be a strong young lady. Tell her that the geeky boys are the way to go...lol. I know she's going to have a great year.

Oh, good! I'm so glad he's happy & enjoying himself. Yes, charter schools are great for their small classes. There are only 100 kids in the 9th & 10th grades combined at Shannon's, which really makes getting one on one help much easier! They are also getting laptops but haven't received them yet. Also, the lockers are still being installed. This means that she has to have books & carry them everywhere. LOL. Her bookbag is HEAVY. She can't wait to get the laptop & give up the books for installed CDs instead. Being its a brand new school, they are still getting things organized.
