Ok mike and i went to parent teacher conferences last friday and since then i have been thinking about this. we go into adam's conference and talk to adam's teacher, adam is a straight a student she has nothing but good things to say about him and how well behaved he is. then we go into michael's conference and sure enough michael is struggling no surprize to us. michael needs specail ed service and adam doesnt. ok what i am confused about that same day i get a letter in the mail from the school about an iep meeting for adam. now i know as well as the teacher and mike and i that adam dont need an iep so should i take this and make him an iep or should i just say no. mike is worried they will put him in specail ed classes where he dont need them. so maybe some of you can put some type of understanding to this. i am sorry about how i wrote this it has been a long morning with KJ dieing and adam not sleeping because of his tooth aches. and i am trying to get him in the dentist but they just put him in a waiting list just for today and so i will be waiting every day tell they call me and get him in this sucks the poor kid is in alot of pain and i am sorry i have vented and asked a question in the same post but maybe you all can help in some way

Adam has been diagnosed with ADHD though? If so, they might want to be proactive on this so he doesn't have the issues Michael has. If he hasn't I would be wanting to know what they are basing their IEP on.
Just remember, you have as much say in the IEP as they do. If they try to put him in special ed and he is doing well in school you have the right to refuse.

Annette has an IEP but is in a regular classroom she was integrated. She does have a consultant teacher who meets with her and her teachers to give her the xtra she needs. The consultant teacher also helps all students so it is not clearly identified but focuses more on my girl and those who need her. I say go the meeting and request Integrated so he would not be in a special ed class. My girl gets resource and the rest of her classes regular. At the meeting have your son go and tell them what he wants .
