I heard from Annette's teachers that she is now interrupting others in class and freaks out whenever someone looks at her and every little noise is bothering her. My girl has been stubborn too from what I hear. Could she just be over sensitive now since the bullying or does she need her meds re-evaluated? I also think the kids know and can be doing stuff on purpose when the teacher is unaware but cannot prove. I spoke with her regarding the issue and asked her if she feels her meds are helping her and she does not know. In the past she was able to tell me if they were helpful or not. She has a psychologist appointment next week however will be missing most of the day in school arggg for I wanted to re-schedule but due to circumstances am not. I am on vacation this week with her and called this am for any cancellations.

She could possibly need a med adjustment. She's growing & her body is changing & you just never know how that can affect a meds effectiveness. Every person is different. Hopefully hedr psych will be able to tell whether she thinks its a good idea to tweak or change her meds. I wish we all lived closer so our kids could be friends & the older ones could stand up for the little ones. Shannon was telling me on Friday that her bus monitor paired her with a 2nd grader who is always getting picked on because she's dirty ( Shannon said shes a tomboy) and talks too much. Shannon always stands up for the girl & it made her feel good to be asked to be her protector!

I think it would be a good idea to re-think a meds adjustment. I know with Josh, I could kinda tell when it was time to give it a little tweak. With him, he'd get more sensitive and be a tad more aggitated. We would usually just go up 5 or 10 mg and things would even out.
With that said, Annette is in middle school, and to me, its the worst years EVER! Kids are so mean and if they even get a wiff that something will get her going, they're probably going to do it just to have fun. Cruel...yes! This happened to Josh a lot in the 6th grade. It drove me and him nuts...hence the homeschooling for 7th and 8th.
Sending you and Annette lots of love....let us know what the doctor says.

ADHD in girls often gets worse with the onset of puberty. That, combined with the fact that she is growing could mean her meds need tweaking.
I also agree that her classmates could be doing things behind the teacher's backs. Kids are very good at that. What does she say about how she is treated in class by kids and teachers both?

I was able to get another appointment with her psychologist from the cancellation list so she does not have to miss school next week. I too am leaning on the medication adjustment for she has been on the same dose all last year and she is growing and changing. At her Tae Kwon Do tournament she did good for her but you can see so much going on the dis tractability end she did struggle in that area.
This week we are both on vacation and I have been spoiling her. Thanks for the input and support.
