Just checking in with everyone. Dakota has started school and its only been a week but his teacher said is doing superb!!! I like her and Dakota seems to really love her! On another note my poor lil guy says he cant eat lunch in the lunch room. He says its too loud and makes his head hurt So he gets to eat in another room or the office. I love how accommodating his school is for him!! Anyone else start school yet??

So happy to hear Dakota is starting out so well. It's such a blessing when they start off on the right foot. It sounds like the accomodations are perfect for him. Yeah, Dakota!!!
We don't start back until the day after Labor Day, so nothing to report yet...lol. I think it's going to be the toughest year accademically (Junior year & SAT's), so I'm not really looking forward to it...lol. Josh has lots of tough classes...arrrggg!!

I'm so glad Dakota is doing well & in a great school. Sounds like he'll do well there. Shannon started on the 20th...her SENIOR year of HS. I can't believe I have a child that old..LOL. So far, so good. She has many of the same teachers as last year. With small classes & this being the first class to graduate from this charter school, the teacher have followed the kids right on up from 10th to 12th grade. Its nice for everyone.

I took Dakota to his dr yesterday for his monthly visit to get the scripts. I discussed with her that Dakota is under weight and she also prescribed him somehting to help increase his appetite!!
And I told her that Dakota is starting to get frustrated after school while doing homework. I told her I felt like the meds had worn off. I mean considering he takes only 7.5 mg of the Dexdrine at 630 AM. So by 3-4 he is having melt downs. We have technically increased his dosage to 10mg because he is going to take 5mg in morning and 5 at lunch. Pray this works!!

Is that school one of those that have very strict discipline? That might help as long as they take his ADHD into consideration.

i am not sure how strict it is, but i was told from one of the officers, that they have seen worse kids and have been able to straighten him out, so we are willing to give it a try, anything is worth anything at this point because if we dont we are going to lose him before he even turns 14 and we dont want that
