Hey everyone!! I just bumped into this site. It peaked my interest and started browsing around. My son has ADHD. That's his only official diagnoses and I had to sort of fight for that. It's amazing how many people look at you like you're insane when you have a child with a disability. His school says that he has "specific learning disability". I've recently started wondering if it has to do with his ADHD because once he started on his meds he has really come a LONG way.
It is so nice to have a place to express myself where my son is concerned and know that there are others who understand the trials we go through.
I started a blog about my experiences, mostly to show the rest of the world what we really go through and that ADHD is more than just a child that can't sit still for longer than 5 minutes.
It was refreshing to come across this site. Thank you for creating it.

Thanks for all the support. The blog is devsmom6.blogspot.com/Feel free to leave comments. The school simply said "specific learning disability".....I've often wondered exactly what that means. He started getting better academically when he started on the Ritilin. He still has comprehension problems. It's a processing issue of some kind. They can't explain, but he's always had it. His Nana on his dad's side was the first one to notice it when he was 3 months old and wouldn't smile. He did at me but no one else. I never thought anything of it until she said something. I wonder if anyone else has always known their child had Adhd or any of other "issues". I knew from the womb that he had it. I had no idea all the stuff that would come with it though. Nobody ever tells you things like that. It's like taboo or something.
