Does your child lie a lot? Is it about everything or selected things? We are going through a phase of it now. It seems to go in phases. Tiff keeps making up these stories about things or people. When questioned she insists that it is try. But upon me not believing her and questioning it further, she says she made it up.
Then tonight my mother picked her up from after care around 4:45 (normal time). She told my mother that she had no homework. When I got there at 6, I asked her. She said then that she did have homework. My mother was upset. I told BF and we cancelled plans to go out to eat. She had a fit I did stay firm and we did not go out. Yeah me for not caving. I made her immediately do the homework, plus some extra reading and math items just for practice. I even made her go to bed before her bedtime.

Well, I think you did the right thing, if that helps at all. I don't know what it is with kids & lying but I hate it!
Shannon lies about stupid things & she always gets caught so I dont know why she even bothers!
For example, the other night after her shower I went up to clean the bathroom. I asked her how come she didn't wash her hair. She insisted she DID wash it. I told her "Don't lie to me. I KNOW you did not wash it". She asked "How would you know that?" My answer was "Because the shampoo was right where it was supposed to be with the lid still closed. When you wash your hair, the bottle is always left open & on the window sill!" She knew then I had caught her & owned up to it, but what was the point of the lie?
She lies about homework too & theres no point in that either! She KNOWS I check her planner daily & ends up having to do it anyway!
