I am going to find that book just the title screams my childs name. Also oh my gosh I think I would have had a heart attack if my kid scewered his hip with some type of outdoor yard tool! That had to take a lot of mom guts to get thru. With Jake after he became mobil later than other children I ended up calling poison control on a regular basis. He would find the strangest things to eat windex, soap, money! plants toys ect. So he has been a long term barrel of fun. He has avery large impulsive streak that has made life very difficult at times. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one having these types of problems that I have to search for some type of answer to an unknown illness. The info you get from Dr.'s and teachers or pamphlets doesn't cover a quarter of what your child puts you thru

Lynn, I have a huge tolerance for pain. When I realized this, it scared me because now I have a fear something will really be wrong and I'll be able to "overlook it" for lack of a better word.
Just wondering if you ever felt that way???

oh yes, I will let things go till its been enough and that scares me. My dh even has made comments....I will hurt myself and say "man that hurts, but continue going" and the next day I will have a huge bump or bruise.
I pulled my quad muscle many years ago and it took forever to heal because I just pushed myself.
now the older I am the more conscience I am of it and try not to letthings go for too long.

Since several of you seemed interested in "Living Around the Now Child" by Dan Woodward and Norma Biondo copyright 1972, I think I will copy a section from it and post it in the section on behavior.
