This is an interview of the father of a child who finally gave up fighting against the cruelty of other children. I am posting the link because it drove home to me how we have to do whatever it takes to help our kids have a healthy self esteem.

OMG that is sad watching ..... and it reminds me of many years ago (when my son was around 8) and he was being bullied by a bunch of older girls ... it was horrendous ... Thank GOD it was stopped ....
It is worth noting as well that SAM didn't tell us he was being bullied ... his FRIENDS did ... I understand this is very common that the kid doesn't "say" anything!! ... Once we realised (from his friends) what was going on we (of course) intervened and went straight to the school ... meantime Sam didn't believe that anything could be done about it ... but we proved to him that soimething COULD be done as long as parents/teachers etc. are aware of what is happening. The school then came down VERY heavily on the girls concerned and the bullying was stopped ...
