I finally sent in the letter to Tiff's school for an evaluation and looking into the possiblity of a 504 or IEP for next year. Nothing like waiting until the very last minute to get it in, only 3 days left of school, lol. So hopefully by the time September rolls around we will meet early and get something going. One good note is that her math teacher this year is getting moved to 4th grade next year and hoping that maybe Tiff will have her and she'll already know Tiff and what she needs.

I received calls today from the Assitant Principal and from the Instructional Support Teacher today. I have the first available IEP meeting in August. It is right after school starts on the 29th. Both of them thanked me for being such a strong advocate. The Assistant Principal is moving onto another school, and she said that she was sorry that she won't be there for us in the future. I have heard good things about her replacement, so I have to trust that input.
At least they are taking me seriously.

Well lets hope that they give her one. It is the team meeting to hear my concerns and what I want them to do for Tiffany and then they will make their recommendations. I am really hoping that one of her teachers from this year that is getting moved up will be there to help give perspective to the group. They all have knowledge and everything, so we'll see.  |
