Ran's (my 13 year old with a math LD) regular math teacher called me this morning and first stated that she was not calling with any problems and then she said she just wanted to check in and see how I thought Ran was handling math this year and if the modifications seemed to be working and if there was anything I needed or Ran needed. I was in shock, this is the first math teacher in a long time that I did not have to hunt down and have long discussions with about the IEP.
I told her I appreciated her calling with that and that Ran did say she was a good teacher and cared about helping students!! PHEWWWWWWW - I hope it keeps up this way and Ran can really learn some techniques from this teacher to compensate for her learning math differently!!

That is so wonderful! Having a teacher who believes in you and is willing to help you is so wonderful! Bless her!

It proves there are some good ones out there. I like my girls new teacher she has each child learn at their own pace and has them move around a lot during the day to different parts of the classroom. It works out great for the ADHD child.
