Tomorrow is Sean's appointment for the first part of the evaluation. It will be the learning portion. It is possible that it may be broken up into 2 appts depending on how he's doing. The psych evaluation is Oct. 9. I am sooooo happy that this is finally happening. (Although not the way I wanted it to)
He has another important appointment on Thursday-with the eye doctor. We are very, very, VERY, hopeful that Sean will no longer have to wear the eye patch. It has been a very long 18 months for him wearing that thing. He will be estatic to hear that he is done with it. When he first started the Dr. said he would have to wear it til his 8th birthday and that is next week so.....keep your fingers crossed for that one!

I'm hoping, praying, keeping my fingers crossed that he doesn't need it anymore.

I'll be waiting to hear how that psych appointment goes. I'm sure you're thrilled that its finally here! I'll pray the eye patch can be done with too.

I too, can't wait to hear about Sean's evaluation. Praying all goes well and that you will finally get some good solid answers!
I can't believe he's been wearing that eye patch for 18 months...I know it's been a loooooong 18 months, but it seems like you just told us about it. Hope all goes well and he can stop wearing it.

You and Sean are both in my prayers for both the eval and the eye exam.

I hope Sean gets to take off the patch. Jake had to wear one, but only for a couple weeks, and fortunately they fell in the summer....

We did get the entire learning part completed, so that was good. We were there for 3 hours and he was fine. I was pretty sure he would be able to get through it because it was one on one attention and he enjoys that. And he did, he thought it was fun so we got it all done in one day. The psychological part is next week. Then after that I will go back fo a third appt and that is when I will get the results so I didn't learn anything about that today. So far so good.

I know! I was thinking the same thing...like wasn't it just a couple months ago she told us about the eye patch.

Over here it seems like he's been wearing that thing for 18 years! But yeah, the school nurse discovered the lazy eye at his kindergarten eye exam so it's been a year and a half already. I am curious to see what his vision is now-he started out at 20/200 in that eye. It is also possible that he will not have to wear his glasses anymore. I did not tell him that in case he does but if he doesn't he will be thrilled.I just got his school pics back and of course I didn't make him wear the patch that day but he took off his glasses for the picture too. He is very self concious about them both. I know my h will also be happy since he has had to replace them at least 5 times. I'll let you know how it goes.
