I'm just wondering. Shannon is 13 & insists on going to the mall & buying most of her stuff at Hot Topic. I tried to explain to her that she isn't going to get much at those prices. Well, my mom gave her 120.00 the other day & she went to Hot topic & came home with A pair of pants & some accessories. Meanwhile, I bought her 3 shirts & some socks at Walmart & spent only a fraction of that. Since she finally realizes that she needs a lot more things, she has decided that Walmart would be OK & then today she asked if we could go to Goodwill. It seems shopping at Goodwill is the "In" thing with the kids here...its trendy & they even brag about it! So Sunday I plan on taking her to those 2 places & maybe Gabes. After that we just need to get shoes, which will be expensive since she wants these particular boots & a pair of skate shoes. I miss when she was little & didnt care where her clothes came from!

I said the mall. I get a lot of stuff at Old Navy and Gap and also at sporting goods stores like Modells and Foot Locker. And also Kohl's. I buy stuff like socks and underwear at Target but will admit that it is me and not my kids who has the shopping problem. They really wouldn't care where I got their clothes but I have a name brand fetish and spend way too much. When Joseph was a baby everything he owned was Tommy Hillfiger and Nautica. I hate shopping except when it comes to the kids clothes I could go every day.

Oh I completely forgot to add Kohls to the list! I like that store. We used to shop at Old Navy all the time...its not part of our mall, its its own store, but now Shannon says that stuff is too "preppy".

I buy school clothes wherever I can find them. Due to the strict dress code at Josh's school, its difficult. Everything has to be plain, no writing, logo's, pictures, or patterns. I usually end up at Target for plain T-shirts or polo's. He can where jeans and I usually get them at JCPenney because they have a good Husky section. No restriction on shoes at his school, so he just ended up getting some DVS skater shoes at Journey's the other day. I hate the darn things, but the kids love em.
Now for the clothes he LIKES, but can't where to school, he's going through an American Eagle phase right now. It's pretty pricey, but you can get good bargins on the clearence rack. And if he could he'd live in a Hoody all year round.

I voted a mixture, but most of the stuff I buy is from walmart/kmart. I love the goodwill, it is not trendy here, but no one has to know where the jeans came from.....
The boys could care less what the name brand is, I am lucky that way. In fact, I have a hard time getting Jake to tell me what he needs!

I voted for a mixture of all of these.
We get a lot from Walmart, Target and Kohl's, but even then shop the sale racks first.
At the mall, you can only get a few things, since they are so expensive.
I like consignment shops. That is where just about everything for her came from before she understood any kind of fashion. And now most consignment shops are hard to find her size. They are for babies or our size.
She still gets some hand me downs from others. But again, she as you all know is bigger then the average girl her age, so that source is drying up quickly. However, my niece gets a lot from us still.
And we shop the outlets a lot. If you want name brands and more bang for your buck, then that is a good route to go.

I wish we had outlets around here. I would have to travel hours to get to one. Mainly my son likes the mall and Old Navy, Aeropostle, etc but I do get him things from Walmart and K-mart.
I don't care where they come from if he will wear them and I can afford them. He grows so fast. I do get a lot of things from the more expensive stores when they are on sale. That helps.

I'll take them LC - for free! I love taking girls shopping. Teens are a little tricky because you may have to say no you can't have that 1" long mini skirt.
