Oh kk, I wish that I lived close...I would watch him!! That so stinks! I really don't think I would be able to quit because of a child's behavior issues...unless he was starting fires or brandishing knives!! And the knives I would blame myself for letting him have access to!
As a childcare provider, I feel like it is my job to find a way to alleviate the behaviors....but that probably comes from working for head start, where we were really not allowed to "kick" anyone out for any reason...we had many trainings on dealing with unwanted behaviors....and I really have found that patience and consistency goes a looooonnng way.
I find that I can put up with almost anything part time.....maybe that's just me....
I hope you find someone soon!

Oh KK, that does stink. Not everyone has the patience to care for our high maintainence kids and she is one of them. Its good that she tried, I just wish she had given you more notice.
I'm sending up prayers for you.

I wish you lived close by too Puzzled! I tried the link for the respite care but there is nothing in my area. The most difficult part is that we need someone to pick him up from school. My in laws said they would watch him Friday(surprisingly enough) but after that who knows. The mom of his friend at school watched him today and she's still offering to do it. Today I gave him Zyrtec beore he went and he was fine.(They have a dog) I just don't know if he's there 4 days a week if his asthma will start up.

OMG sometimes I cannot believe the crap luck I have. Since the last babysitter quit, the new one(Sean's friend's mom)has worked out beautifully. No allergy problems at all, the boys get along, and when a problem arises she has no problem handling it. Anyway to make a long story short she cant watch him anymore. Her boss needed to change her work hours from evening to daytime and now she's in a desperate search for a sitter for her own son. We're out of options at this point. On a funny note when she was telling me all this she said she was walking her dog at 2 AM because she couldnt sleep because of this Sean said "you should try this medicine I got, it works great!"(see psych.appt. post)

Bless Sean's heart! I bet you both needed a laugh about then.
Is there any chance you can find someone to watch both since they get along so well? It might make it easier for Sean to adjust.

That stinks, KK! You finally had the perfect set up!
On the plus side, maybe you & her can look together & find someone to watch both boys. They would still be able to play together then!
