What was the father's attitude when he was around the family? I really believe the father's attitude towards the child and ADHD, and whether he fought the mother over her discipline attempts or backed her up, makes a huge difference on how respectful the child is to the mom.
She may very well have given up or not been allowed to exert control until it reached the point that she was totally frustrated.
We have to give her credit, she realized she was in over her head and applied to supernanny for help.

CG...the fathers attitude was that he just basically withdrew from the whole situation. I didn't see him try to give the mother any help in anyway. He was just there. She did everything with ALL the kids and was just spent.
I also got the feeling that these were very young and immature parents. I don't think that they were any older than 27 or 28 years old. They lived in Salt Lake City and I got the impression they married very young (as a lot of Mormans do) and they just didn't have the maturity in parenting skills. Four kids in less than seven years is a lot to deal with. Dad had no authority at all and the mom was just stressed to the max! It was sad. I could be way off base here, but that's the impression I got.

I agree Bugs, they looked really young. I do hope the Dad is making an effort to help. He did seem very open to it on the show.

I was disappointed with the show for they did not even address the behavior issue maybe because the nanny could only do so much. Obviously behavior management is needed and this women is pregnant again. As for the father i think he may have adult ADD and is undiagnosed why he did what he did and was oblivious to it.
