Hi All!
I just want to say Hi and send my regards to each of you. A number of new faces and old...all I'm glad to see.
To sum it up, the last five months have been exceptionally busy...with our daughter moving to Egypt for a year of teaching...what an adventure! our middle son (adhd/ld/gifted) graduating high school (started college on the East coast, we're in WA state and so far from what little we hear, it sounds like he's doing wellin classes, advocates for himself and enjoys college life) youngest starting high school (tenth grade), me changing job locations, hubby accepted a new job on the East coast meaning we've quickly fixed up the house for sale. Everyone is pretty excited about the move to the East except for the youngest. You remember being 16? He says in the short term he doesn't like it because he will miss his friends. True, but think how much "character building" this will be for him. For me, it seems like it is time in our family's life to be changing and moving and I am feeling the support of G-- in all I do. Life's good.
God Bless You All -jfla

Nice to hear from you Jfla. It does sound like you've been busy and moving no less. I like the moving part but the packing up I can do without. LOL
Glad things are going well for you.

Its great hearing from you. I hope all goes well.
Just think, you will be so much closer to your son in college. Does your 16 yr old feel happy at the thought of being closer to his brother?
When do you move? Its certainly not my favorite thing to do. What part of the coast are you going to?

16 yr old kinda likes the idea of being closer to brother; I think he also likes the new peace and quiet! The one incollege loves the idea because we will be closer but not too close, so he could come home for the weekend if wants. Daughter loves the idea because she has lots of friends in the area. Job is in NYC, he leaves in october while I stay and wait for the house to sell. I'm not keen on putting the house on the market in the fall as opposed to spring but that's the way it goes. So moving depends on when the house sells and what part of the school year the sophomore is in. We're just taking it as it comes. ;D

Sounds like you are going to be VERY busy packing! At least your kids are old enough to help.

They are old enough except the two older ones are not here and still have a lot of their stuff to pack up. At least the eldest apologized that I needed to do her work while she was on the other side of the earth. With a huge dumpter and moving container parked on our driveway, we were able to fill both! One to the dump and one into storage! It sure feels good to get rid of the clutter!

Change can be a good thing and sounds like you have a positive attitude about it. Hope the 16 year old adapts OK!! Good luck.
