Good morning! Keara asked me why daddy was so nice on Saturday! Can you tell that he sometimes yells a lot and doesn't do alot with the girls???
We actually had a pretty good weekend. Keara slept in while Megan and I cleaned the TV room. And when I say cleaned, I mean CLEANED. I moved the bookshelves, the hope chest, got rid of a few blankets and stored other blankets that I'd had sitting out in my hope chest, moved all the furniture to dust and sweep....Keara got to sleep in as it wasn't her mess. It was Megan's. And once her meds kicked in, she was very helpful. Then I took a shower and we went out for lunch. Then Bill took us bowling. None of us had a clue! God, it's expensive! It was $16 just for shoes and another $24 for bowling 2 frames each!!! And lunch at Arby's was $23. So it wasn't a cheap excursion, even without lunch! But we hadn't gone since last January or so, so what the heck.
Then Sunday, after I dropped Megan off at Sunday school, I went to our new Target....I bought the girls one of their Christmas gifts. They are DYING to get this Aqua Dot stuff and the machine was on for $19.99 instead of $25.99, so I got that. I've read good reviews about it except at how fast kids go through the dots making things....oh well. The excitement will wear off in a few months. And this new Target has a Starbucks in it, so I got one on the way out....ahhhhh....so relaxing.
Bill took us all to the new Gander Moutain just to wander around. We bought the dogs a new leash (Hershey managed to mangle the other one under a tire of our next door neighbour's car a few days ago when we took her and Duke for a walk...and she started chasing a cat....), 2 GIGANTIC bones for them and a new pillow bed for Duke. He can't figure out how to jump up on our bed (thank GOD!...one dog up there is enough) and so he just sleeps on the floor. So now he has a nice pillow to sleep on. We're soft on the dogs. :-)
Then I took Keara to Michaels where she spent $25 of her own money on beads (she's REALLY into making jewellery lately) and I bought her an early Christmas present in a crimper and some crimp beads so she can make them properly. We talked to the jewellery teacher and although she doesn't have any classes for beginners coming up soon, she said she'd call us and could do a one on one class with Keara! That would be awesome! The 2 1/2 hour class for one project was only $15, so even if I had to pay $20 for a private lesson, I sure don't mind. She's actually starting a club at her school at recess to teach girls how to do it. Which is why I told her she needs to learn how to do it properly if she's going to teach others. She's charging them $1.00 to learn how to make earrings and she supplies everything. Which pretty much will just cover the cost of the earrings and beads and her time. Her teacher told her that she could start any type of club she wanted to and that one that teaches others how to do stuff like that is great! Keara loves her teacher!
After we got home from that, Bill was in the process of teaching Megan how to play Spider Solitaire on the computer. When he was done, we went to a Home Show. $12.00 for pretty much nothing other than 2 brochures on log homes. And maybe a trip this weekend about 50 minutes away to an open house for one of the companies we saw. Which is cool because our dream is to build a log home. Before we die! And we actually pretty much agree about every feature in it! As long as I get my huge kitchen with an island and breakfast bar, I'll be a happy camper. The 2400 sq. foot package we looked at was a whopping $89,000. Of course, we don't have any land. So right now, it's just a dream. But some day......
Other than that, we have cheerleading Tuesday and Thursday and I need to get in touch with the volunteer coordinator at the girls' old school to get the phone numbers of the 2 new recruits she's found to take over the Boxtops Coordinator job. I'm going to teach them what to do. Should take a whopping 5 minutes. Then I'm going to call the principal at the girls' new school and ask if I can attend the private PTA meeting on Wednesday (he was thinking of inviting me because I volunteered to take over the Boxtops gig at this school). We'll see. I have to find a babysitter first.
I've tried venison a few times....ick. I ate venison burgers at a birthday party once....it was ok, but I sure didn't have a second one! I'm game for trying anything once (heeheehee), but after trying venison at least 4 or 5 times.....yuck.
I hope you get some sunshine soon SweatPea! I find I feel depressed when it's a gloomy, cloudy day. I love sunshine (though not really the heat!). I hope your daughter feels better MUCH sooner than later Mary.
