My goodness, I guess I'll sing the alphabet since I goofed up....abcdefg, hijklmnopeeeeeeee, qrstuveeee, wxy and zeeeee.
Brrrr, it was chilly in this house when I got up and I can't seem to shake the chill I got. I think I need a better cover over the hole in my wall. I sure hope my brother gets back soon so we can put the door in. (He has about a 4 1/2 to 5 hour drive each way so it isn't as if he can hop on over...bless his heart for doing this.) The truth is, it probably would have been just as cost effective if I had hired someone to put in the door because he has driven his pick-up truck and it is a huge gas hog. Now that I think of it it was down right stupid for him to drive all that way.....but he wanted to. And then you add the cost of stripping that old door and painting it and the cost is totally not logical. But then again he brought the 16ft. ($100) ramp section so that alone makes up for any extra cost associated with this project. It ain't cheap to buy the lumber for decks/ramps.
I really didn't have much to say. I just came to this site and for some reason I knew when I posted yesterday I didn't use the right letter of the aphabet to start with so I had to pay my penalty. LOL Why did I realize it out of the blue now and not when I was writing it???

Oh, I noticed, but all I could think of was, "Boy, misty is slipping!"
I finished that research paper, and my fingers are cold! It is blustery here today and my house is old and drafty. It is only 5 pages, but I simply cannot bring myself to care....I have an A+ in that class, so if I get graded down a bit for it not being quite long enough, I will live.
Now all I have to do is a 2-3 page paper due tomorrow that tells the prof what I have learned...and then one on friday for geography.
I am taking a break to bake some pumpkin bread, maybe that will warm up my fingers. Then back to the keyboard.
One more week, one more week, one more week...
We don't have the corn burner going yet, so it is not toasty warm in here. I have to clear it off, it IS a flat surface, so it naturally got piled full of stuff...well, not full, but it needs cleared off.
I will attack the 'what I learned' paper later, maybe tonight, I have to go to Jonna's (I know, I know, but I cannot say no) to babysit, her regular sitter is sick. She says I can use her computer to BS my way through that paper at the same time.
Who knows? After I bake the pumpkin bread, I may get a second wind and whip it out before I go.....

Plenty of rest I have had these last two days. I have been enjoying my week very well so far. We (my father and I) have done some errands that were the most important purpose of the trip. I have done some shopping; here I can find much better deals than in my country, so, getting some stuff for the kids is always a must when I come here.
In my country things are starting to get tense. There was a very important event that happened yesterday that might be a light in the dark tunnel. There will be another demonstration tomorrow; well, things really seem to be on the move at this time, I hope everything goes for our benefit.
I have been calling home. They told me dd is sick, she got a virus that produces blisters all inside her mouth and she has been crying and not being able to sleep properly, she hasn't been going to school and they had to call my father in law to examine her (he is a pediatrician, so...) My heart is broken for this, but there's nothing I can do from here, my mom and her nanny are around her and I know she is very well taken care of. But ds is doing just fine, he has been going to school and brought some tests with good grades. This is about the third time that I travel without my kids and I know that when the third day strikes I start to become a little anxious about this, but I guess I just need to relax, I will be there again on Sunday...

Quite sorry about your daughter, mary! That must be painful for her. I am sure that your mom and the nanny are taking very good care of her, but I am also sure that you and she will be so happy when you get to come back home.
I hope that things do turn around for your country as well.
I finished both of my papers today that are due tomorrow...now all that is left is my geography one. That is due friday, so I am writing it on Thursday. I am ready to go to bed, but I have one last loaf of pumpkin bread in the oven, and it is not quite done baking.
Everyone remember...
One more week, one more week...LOL

Sure would like to shoot the person that made half-days at school. Sean has had them since last Friday, has another one tomorrow, and then no school Thursday and Friday. Enough already! Tomorrow is my conference with his teacher and if that won't put me in a bad enough mood we had to get the in-laws to watch him so I can go. Today I got my third power cord for my laptop. It arrived UPS at around 4:00 and stopped working promptly at 11:00. When my h returned the first one(the one that came with it) he bought one to use temporarily and it worked fine. They sent us a new one which was the same as the first and it stopped working after a week. So he bought another temporary one and it was fine. NOW the third one which is again the same as the first one stopped working in a matter of hours. I am going to strangle someone at Gateway with this cord. Mary-I hope your daughter feels better soon and that you enjoy your time in FL. Puzzled-It's almost over! Well I have my nightly headache and have discovered that Advil PM works much better than Tylenol PM and any minute now I could fall into a 6 hour coma. 38 mgs of diphenhydramine vs only 25 in a Tylenol. I better lay down.

Then, I'll tell you, I was by far NOT the oldest person at The Police concert last night!!!! And there were very few young young kids....there were some early teens, but I only actually saw 1 kid about 4. The rest were all my age or older. And boy....we were NOT disappointed! Sting looks the EXACT same as he did 20 years ago. Stuart Copeland has aged very well, though he was a bit more hunky when he was younger...and holy cow...I didn't realize that Andy Summers, the lead guitarist was so short! He looked like a leprachaun! And nor did I know that Stuart Copeland is FROM Virginia. I thought they were all from England. And the opening act...I was telling our graphic artist guy this morning about how awesome they were, too, but that their lyrics really sucked....and then he said that it was Sting's kid's band. Well, they are awesome at playing...but someone REALLY needs to help them with the lyrics...not impressed by those. But The Police....Bill and I were blown away at how spot on the songs were...though they had changed the beat to a few songs in places and added some different percussion to 2 songs...but they really enhanced the songs as far as the percussion and pan flute went...not crazy about the rhythm change....but anyways...we were thrilled. Not much up for today. I need to make a casserole/meat dish and a dessert for the cheerleading party tomorrow night. So I'll make my mom's mac & cheese recipe and I'm waffling on making just some cupcakes or a cupcake cake with pompoms on them....not sure what kind of energy level I'll have tonight. I may just bake the cupcakes and let the girls decorate them. They both enjoy doing that. I'm going out for dinner Friday night in DC. Bill is off so he'll have the girls. I was going to take a course on Saturday in DC to learn how to be a better pathfinder for cleftAdvocate, but the girls and I have to do a mandatory family workshop for Megan's upcoming First Communion. But they're going out to dinner Friday night before the cleft workshop and invited anyone close enough to go even if they couldn't make the conference. Bill thinks I'm a bit nuts to drive 1 1/2 hours each way (especially at $3.00 a gallon!) to have dinner and come home. But I haven't seen the founder of cleftAdvocate in about 3 years. And I'd like to meet some other people in this surrounding area (though I don't think anyone else is coming from Richmond). Tomorrow morning, I have to drop Duke off at the vet's. He's getting his nouggie's snipped! Maybe that'll curb his sniffing of Hershey's butt. I don't want to have to start explaining to the kids what's going on there...not yet at least. Thank God we don't live on a farm! If I happen to see Van Halen, U2, Rod Stewart or Bon Jovi coming around here...I think I may be able to convince Bill to go to those, too. Especially Van Halen. I think they just played DC last week and now the closest date is 3 hours away...we're not THAT into them...but if they come closer, we'll probably go.

Uh oh...Bill pulled out my winter clothes...2 of those HUGE long Rubbermaid boxes and a regular one...and I managed to fill them all back up with summer clothes and winter clothes that don't fit right now....sigh....maybe next year...of course this made an extra 3 loads of laundry (goodness I like red sweaters!) in addition to the 4 loads I've already got lined up....glad I don't mind doing laundry! I'm going up to DC tonight to have dinner with the founder of cleftAdvocate and some other people who will (or possibly not, like me) attending the conference tomorrow. I have to go to a mandatory family workshop for Megan's first communion tomorrow. Lucky Keara gets to stay home with Bill. Though, the pre-confirmation class is going to cater a lunch for us afterwards. So all is not bad! Duke seems to be doing okay after having been neutered yesterday. He's still really active and playful, so we're trying to curb the activeness a bit for the next few days...right.... I have to take Hershey in to the vet today now as she's been spotting a bit now and again and they said that they'd get her checked out just in case it's a UTI. I didn't think she should spot from being in heat as she was spayed in June...but who knows...so, better safe than sorry. Other than that....I have a bunch of shopping to do before I go to my mom's in 2 weeks for Thanksgiving. This'll save me at least $50 in shipping, so it's at least a tank of gas! And my ex-boyfriend and his wife FINALLY had the baby....he wants to name it after Deanna Troy from Star Trek...she's kind of shooting that down...so Keara came up with some names like Alexis, Alex and Blake. My ex's parents are the girls' memere and pepere. Keara is still their shining light. Sigh...it sucks when people pick favourites. I remember people always favoured me over my brother and of course I didn't care when I was younger, but as I got older, I realized how left out he felt...and he even mentioned it to my mom asking why everyone didn't like him....I don't want that happening to Megan....not as easy to do as it seems.... Well, I've got work up the butt to do, so I guess I should go. Have a great day! Oh, and the cheerleading party went well enough last night. Thank GOD that is over...no more cheerleading from us unless I get a 4 month prescription for daily Percocet or Valium or something to dull the pain of boredom!!!!

Very little, actually, but I liked that graphic...LOL. took Shannon to get her ears pierced today while Bill mumbled & grumbled that she shouldn't have let them close from when she had them pierced when she was 6. She wanted her eyebrow pierced like her friend is getting, but NO WAY! I think that looks terrible on anyone, but especially on a young girl. I told her if she still wants it done at 16, we'll discuss it then. Anyway, my mom was with us & we went to hot topic where there is a pair of boots Shannon is dying to get & my mom had her try them on & bought them for her...but she took them home to wrap them for Christmas. I finally got around to dyeing the grey out of my hair..LOL. I used a hair dye that gives auburn highlights & I really like it! Shannon went to sleep over Autumns so when Bill picked me up from work, we ordered Chinese takeout...YUM! I got General Tso's chicken--my favorite. Not too much excitement in my life right now. I'm trying to decide what to buy my nephew for his 2nd birthday. The party is December 8th at Chuck E Cheese. I'd love to buy him one of everything! LOL! Its going to be fun shopping for him this year! Whats everyone doing this weekend? I plan on cleaning & maybe some shopping. I did all the laundry already so thats one less chore that needs done. I need to take Shannons TV to my dads so he can look at it. She spilled something sticky on it & now it won't turn on. If anyone can fix it, my dad can. I hope its fixable since that wasn't one of the things I was going to buy her for Christmas this year, but I'll have no choice if hers is broken because I do NOT want MTV blasting throughout the living room!
