Pretty busy you all have been. I'm afraid my weekend was boring in comparison. We went to my moms yesterday to visit & use her sewing machine. I had some mending that needed done & mine is broken. My dad was in the basement trying to find the nest of carpenter ants hes been seeing in the house. You should've seen the outfit he had on to prevent getting bitten! Yesterday was cleaning day & while I washed windows & scrubbed floors, Shannon was sent up to clean her room. Clean was what I told her but rearrange is what she decided to do & of course the room is now in a messier state then before she started. I was going to go clean it a bit today but opted instead to just shut the door & make her finish it after school. Maybe losing computer time will keep the same thing from happening in the future. Well, I'll have to wait until after Grandma is done with her. My mom is picking her up after school to go to Borders. Shannon needs to get a birthday gift for Autumn & my mom needs to get some books about moving for my little nephew. This morning at the bus stop I was trying to get one of the boys to stop goofing around right next to the street & I tripped & fell. Twisted my ankle & pulled my back out so now I'm taking it easy. Not much else to report. My life is so exciting, huh?

Quite early for me to be posting. I am trying to wake up with a cup of coffee. It is already 70 degrees here-yay! I am hoping to postpone fall by at least another month. It got cold for a few days but I have since been able to wear my flip flops again. Today I have my psych class and then tonight are Joe's conferences. They do it different here in middle school-you don't get a scheduled time, it is just walk in between 7-9 first come, first serve. Since he has 5 different teachers I expect to do a lot of waiting. Sean's isn't until the 2nd week of Nov. I have finally heard back from my sister's SIL and the majority of people have RSVPed at this point. I thought it would be fun to plan but no. Now I just want to get it over with. Hope everyone is having a good week!

Right back, but extremely busy days. I don't even have time to read the posts carefully. My days have just too many activities and I can't find a little bit of time for me. It is Tuesday and I am desperately waiting for Friday to feel that I can breathe a little. The papers from school are really getting me nuts. My son's homeworks are not a big deal, but the study time is hard. He must study every single day what he is taught in class so he doesn't lose track of the subjects; additionally, the evaluations are very frequent. To tell you the truth, I am not waiting for Friday, I am really waiting for DECEMBER VACATIONS!!!!!!

So quiet is my house now! I love having relatives and friends come visit but I was ready for peace and quiet and a clean kitchen. Seems when I have company I'm constantly in the kitchen trying to make things look resonably neat. But with 8 people to make food for and 8 people who brought their favorite soda, bread, snack (to be helpful) I ended up with no counter space to work on and that drives me nuts. And the constant conversations going on gets to me too afterwhile.
Any spare time this week is slotted for finishing stripping that door and either staining it or painting it, finishing Mom's furniture (very close to being done on both), getting the permit for the ramp, moving cable lines, washing dirty sheets for the next round of visitors, and just getting my house in order again.
And last night I slept in my own bed. Oh did that feel good. I really need to get my basement finished before Thanksgiving so I can set up additional sleeping there because I'm going to have a houseful.
Gotta run...just thought I'd check in.

Things are quiet here today. Theres a cold rain & even the kids at the bus stop were more subdued than normal. I put beef & gravy in the crock pot so all I'll need to do tonight is boil noodles. The house already smells delicious! I have a splitting headache today. BUT I had a 5.00 off coupon for Tylenol so I got a 50 count bottle for only 35 cents! Can't beat that! I just love a good deal. Well, I really had nothing to say...just a quick hello.

Unbelievably tired from paper writing...2 down, 2 to go. And only one of them will be an issue, the other prof is easy to please.
Jake got his grade card, and bless his heart, he stayed true to form and brought home all A's and B's despite his murmurings all quarter about how hard several subjects were. I think maybe the material is finally getting to where he has to think and try a little, and it is a new feeling to him....only took till his freshman year...with me, I remember vividly in 7th grade saying..."dang I have to study to get a good grade?" It was a difficult concept to get used to....Chase's grade card should come in the mail today or tomorrow, so hopefully it will be another good one, and I can relax for a couple weeks....
Got the weekly email from Chase's prealgebra teacher (the only one doing it...another story), and after she sang his praises, she tells me that this is her last week! She is taking a principal position in another nearby elementary school...why do the good ones always move upward?? I told her that while I was happy that she is making a career move, I was sad to see her go. In the email she said that the new teacher ( a girl only 2 years ahead of Chels in school! brand new teacher!) has seen his 504 and has been informed about the emails....but I am nervous and so is Chase. He said, "Mom! Miss ______ told us she is not gonna be our teacher anymore! I hope the new one is a good teacher!" Chelsea remembers this girl as being very athletic and quite good at math....but that says nothing about how good a teacher she may or may not be....holding my breath. She starts next Monday.
I went in to my last class yesterday to hand in my survey report...a report that she asked for sooo many graphs and needed to have the actual surveys turned in too....that it is in a binder! And the teacher never came! We had not had class the last two class meetings, but were supposed to resume yesterday, the rest of the class was there too, but no teacher. We waited for over 10 minutes past the start time (apparently there is a protocol? Who knew?) but she never came, so we all happily left early. I actually got home in time to start supper and have it done by 6:30. Hope she is all right. I heard sirens as I went through the parking lot to my car, and hoped it was not her in an accident...I know the chances are slim, but it still crossed my mind. I checked my campus email before I went to bed last night, no email from her explaining her absence....haven't checked this morning.
I am going to meet my new great niece, Zoe today. This baby belongs to my niece that lived with me for 2 years, so her babies are more like more grandbabies to me than great nieces....this is her 3rd girl. She was born on October 10th, and she is visiting my mom this week, she was supposed to leave yesterday, but stayed an extra day so Aunt Nannie (me) could make it in for a visit.

Very well, due to the rain that we're finally getting, cheerleading practice is cancelled for tonight...and the games will probably be postponed until Sunday....but regardless, we aren't going. My SIL and her family are supposedly coming in tomorrow or Saturday...but who knows...no one has bothered to call and let me know...or even ask me for that matter...the only reason I know about this is because last Saturday when we took my MIL out for dinner, she mentioned that Kathy might come down this weekend....uh, nice of someone asking ME! It IS our house that they stay at! I mean, if I don't have to straighten up the back bedroom, I won't because it looks like a storage room right now....but I'd like more than a few hours notice....because after I pick the girls up tonight after work, we'll eat and then go to Party City to see about a costume for Megan. Then it's over to KMart to return the underwear I bought for Bill yesterday. He doesn't like the new comfort waistband........whatever....so I'll exchange those. And then I have to make a cake that I said I'd donate to the teachers at the girls' school. And I bought some mini brownie bites that we have to bag for the bake sale tomorrow at their Halloween party at the school. And if I'm feeling REALLY adverturous....I MIGHT bake some cookies. Still not sure about that.... And the house looks extra yucky because although the dogs are walking on towels when they come in from outside....they're still dirty. Our house has mud on the walls!!! Crap.....And I about as much feel like washing walls tonight as having another hole in my head! I bought myself a convection toaster oven yesterday. We had to figure out how to toast Bill's pop tart this morning....he's not impressed with it but he can suck it up....it was $80, but after I get back the $20 rebate, it'll have cost me $15 as I had a coupon for 20% off (Linens N Things) and $30 in other rebate gift cards. And our double toaster only had one side that worked anyways....though now I've got to clean the cupboards out at the bottom so I can put our deep fryer away and have more counter space....why do I make more work for myself?

Well, I've been a sickling all day. Not sure what I have but it is something. I went to bed at 12:30 last night and was probably asleep by 1:00 A.M. and I woke up so tired. (You all know I stay up until 3:00 A.M. and/or as late as 4:00 and I'm good to go most days) I've been dragging all day and honestly felt like crawling to some of my destinations. LOL Whats wierd is, I don't know what I have. I don't have a cold, I'm slightly sick to my stomach but not real bad and I have congestion which I have no clue how that happened because I haven't had a cold or sinus trouble. It just happened over-night it seems. Hopefully, I'll feel better tomorrow but right now it doesn't seem promising.
Well, the permit people want a "site location" plan and not just specs & a drawing of the ramp itself so back to the drawing board I go. Hey!!!... thats literally and not figuratively. Hee hee. Usually I don't say that when I am actually going to go back to a real drawing board. LOL Anyway, I got part of it drawn tonight but ran out of steam.
I got my digital camera today!!! I put the batteries in it and the card and played with it a little but I just didn't have it in me to read the manual on how to do everything. Finally, I'm coming out of the dark ages. LOL It will really come in handy for my new message board. Woo Hoo
Kellyh, My deseased sister and her husband used to do that to me all the time. Come without calling. Used to drive me crazy but now I'd give anything to have her show up. But I do understand how you feel...it is really just rude to not O.K. a visit with the people you intend on staying with.
Puzzled, Good luck on your papers. Bravo to Jake and I'm sorry Chase is getting a new teacher. I pray she will be a good one.

Xactly how are you feeling,JJ?? (Not the way I wanted to word that, but hey,I had to use the letter X somehow!) I hope you are feeling better this morning. Shannon's friend Nikki was supposed to sleep over tonight but her sperm donor insisted that she visit with him instead so her mom had to call & break the plans. Now Shannon AND Nikki are disappointed. They go to different schools & they really love spending time together when they can. But Autumn's birthday party/Halloween party is Saturday night & Shannon is sleeping over after so the weekend isn't totally lost.Shannon bought her a Marilyn Manson CD We have her costume all ready to go. She was gonna be a member of a band she loves but changed her mind & is now going as a guy from some horror movie.Last night she had her jug of fake blood &was out on the back porch applying it to the clothes she'll be wearing. When she finished our back porch resembled a crime scene! I bought her a long grey wig that needs trimmed to the right length & she'll be all set. I just need batteries for my camera. I'm looking for a new job. I work at the restaurant just a couple nights a week. I love having the pocket money so I never need to dip into the bank for those misc purchases throughout the week but I HATE my boss. Hes so condescending toward women & miserable all the time. So I decided to look for something else. As soon as I find something I can do for just a couple nights a week I'm out of there. Any ideas? Puzzled, good luck with your papers! Everyone:

I hope you feel better soon JJ. It sucks when you don't feel well...and even more so when you don't know why. Well, my morning started off really crappy (and trust me, that is NOT the word I want to use) and just went downhill from there. I fell back asleep after my alarm went off at 5:40 till 6:05. Not that huge a deal, but it still sets me back. I came downstairs and threw a load of laundry in our new front load washing machine. I grabbed a cup of coffee, ate breakfast, made the girls their breakfast and then went upstairs to take a shower. As I'm getting my makeup on (I was rushing to get ready for 7:10 a.m. as I had baked a big bag of cookies and had a cake for the bake sale for the Halloween party tonight at the girls' school and had to get Megan to school by 7:20 for her Spanish class) and heard a loud thump. Keara was sent downstairs to investigate. She said that the laundry detergent fell off the washing machine (guess who put it there!) and spilled all over the floor. This didn't sound good. And sure enough....there was a big pool of blue on the tile floor. And it was 7:00 a.m. Like I had time for this! So, a few choice words came out of my mouth, I said I didn't have time for this now and I'll clean it later....well, my husband decided to go downstairs to see it and that just started a maelstrom of wordy dirties...which I could hear OVER my hairdryer upstairs!!! So needless to say, I was in a peeved mood (again, NOT the word I want to use!) as was he. He kept *itching and groaning about how he can't ever have anything (he tiled the floor and he wanted it cleaned up immediately so it didn't soak into the tile???!!! )....oh, get over it.....sigh....so I hauled my one kid out of the house (the other one also annoyed the crap out of me by neglecting to tell me that the cake I made, and which cracked a bit because the kitchen was so hot last, I was tired, and didn't bother levelling the cake properly) was for a teachers raffle...I was peeved....I didn't mind if the cake was cracked and they were just going to eat it....but not if it was a prize!!! Crap crap and double crap. So I drop Megan off and drop all the baked goods off at the office. I couldn't do it later as I'm working through my lunch hour as we have a 3:40 p.m. appointment at an army base 35 minutes south of us so I can get a new ID and so Keara can get her first ID now that she's 10. And the Halloween party starts at 5:30 at their school. I also made up 2 trays of cookies for their daycare, although they'll only be there for about 20 minutes today and won't really be there for the party....sigh....my neck feels so tense it might snap. As soon as I leave here (and of course, I forgot to bring a lunch!), I have to get the girls and hope that he's not in as bad a mood as this morning as my husband has to come with us for me to get our IDs. And then we have to haul butt home as Keara is on the student council and has to work at 6 at one of the games.....sigh.....there's not enough Calgon to take me away right now..... And since the detergent (and of course, it was a brand new 200 ml bottle) exploded, it got on some of the clean clothes...which I'll now have to rewash. And there went $20 down the tubes....I guess I'll stick to smaller bottles that I can put in the drawer below the washing machine. I love it, but it has a heck of a vibration when it's on its final spin cycle. Sigh.......
